Master Kuan Jian of Tiankai Temple and his proposal of fasting and releasing —— The third impression of Fangshan

After moving to Fangshan in 213, I learned that there are Tiankai Temple, Tiankai Village, Tiankai Reservoir, Tiankai Flower Sea, etc. near my home, and there are many places named after the word "Tiankai".

Tiankai, I like this word very much.

So, I first went to see the nearest Tiankai Temple.

It is said that the Tiankai Temple in history was built in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and it has a history of more than 19 years. It is one of the oldest ancient temples in Beijing.

today, the temple was opened, and Mr. Yousisen, the chairman of Longmen Ecological Park, made a huge sum of money to rebuild it from 25 to 21. Its land is located in the east edge of the hilly area of Hancunhe Town, Fangshan District, close to the plain and located in Longmen Ecological Park.

Tiankai Temple is close, not just near, but very close. If it is not blocked by a hill, you can see it on your terrace.

I have visited many places for religious activities at home and abroad, such as Buddhist temples and Taoist temples. Fangshan Tiankai Temple is one of the most impressive places for me. Because of the proximity, I often go there. After going to many places, I made some friends with Buddhists. Often contact with Master Kuan Jian, Master Hong Tian, and Master Xian Hui (when I first met a layman, I became a monk and went to Zhejiang Buddhist College to specialize in Buddhism). I have listened to Master Kuanjian's lecture, eaten vegetarian food in the temple, and invited them to taste the zongzi wrapped by me. Later, he met the abbot Shi Yanfo at the inaugural meeting of the Beijing Religious Culture Research Association.

Master Kuan Jian, common name Zhou Liqian, originally from Hepu, Guangxi, was born in Shaoguan, Guangdong in 1972 and grew up in Pingyuan, Meizhou. In 1994, he graduated from xidian university Computer Science and Engineering Department with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

After graduating from Master University, he first worked in the Telecommunications Department of Shenzhen Baoan Post and Telecommunications Bureau, engaged in the management and construction of telecommunications computer network engineering. However, since childhood, the mage has cherished the ambition of dust, and his heart is the exploration of the universe of life. When he was in college, he was exposed to Buddhism. He often thought that life is rare, and he should take promoting Buddhism, serving the society, purifying people's hearts and liberating himself as his lifelong career. He resolutely abandoned the custom and became a monk under the seat of Chang Ming, an old monk in Xingjiao Temple, Chang 'an, Shaanxi Province. In 1998, he was ordained by three altars in Nanhua Temple, Guangdong Province.

Master was admitted to China Buddhist College in September 1999 to study Buddhism. In July 2, as the only representative of Buddhist monks, he attended the 23rd Congress of the National Student Union in the Great Hall of the People. In December 22, as a member of the China Buddha Tooth Protection Corps, he escorted the Buddha Tooth Relic of Lingguang Temple, a national treasure of Buddhism, to worship in Thailand. In July 23, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Buddhism and continued his studies as a graduate student of Tiantai Sect of China Buddhist College. He graduated with a master's degree in Buddhism in 26. Master Kuanjian became the abbot of Lingshan Temple in Guangde, Anhui Province in 25, and was elected as the president of Guangde Buddhist Association in early 26. In order to explore various forms of promoting Buddhism, in early 27, the master opened "Interpretation of Kuan Jian _ Sina Blog", which became attached to the vast number of netizens and publicized Buddhism to the public through the Internet, and achieved good results.

in 28, the master lived in Tiankai Temple, Fangshan, Beijing, where he preached dharma all the year round, lectured regularly, established a temple for monks, educated all beings and established a harmonious monk group, enjoying a good reputation.

Freezing from fast food is an innovative and generalized concept of freedom initiated by Master Kuanjian in Tiankai Temple in April, 215. Its basic model is: the vegetarian food is given to the people who are destined for society free of charge by buying vegetarian food from vegetarian restaurants, advocating vegetarian food and publicizing the concept of freeing from fast food at the scene of fast food, guiding the public to gradually understand and accept the new thing of "fasting", and actively encouraging more people to participate in fast food, forming a virtuous circle, so as to achieve

Master Kuanjian first publicly talked about his concept of releasing from fasting. On the afternoon of April 18th, 215, he gave a presentation entitled "Releasing Innovation —— Releasing from fasting" to students in the small lecture hall of Tiankai Temple, which was the first initiative of the concept of releasing from fasting. The next day, on April 19th, 215, the Master wrote an article in Tiankai Temple entitled "Generalized Release: Breaking through the Realistic Dilemma and Innovating the Idea of Release", further expounding his idea of generalized release centered on fasting release.

this paper mainly refers to the "release innovation-release from fasting" to introduce the release from fasting.

First of all, Master Kuanjian pointed out some deviations in the current popular release, such as: incorrect motives, ignoring the consequences of "merit", choosing "auspicious day", choosing the quantity and size, choosing the species, and so on. Based on this, we clarify what is meant by "releasing as the law": when we see that all beings are or will be in danger, whenever and wherever conditions permit (no need for auspicious days and auspicious places), we can immediately take action to save them from danger, free them from fear, pray for them in time (without delay), and put them in an easy-to-survive place, so that they can get benefits in the world and beyond. The only requirement for our release is whether it is in danger now! In a word, release should focus on all beings-release is because all beings need us to release them, not the word "I"-and I need to release them, so I go to all beings to meet my needs. This is also the implementation of the position and viewpoint of selflessness in Buddhism. Releasing like this is the way to release.

Secondly, it expounds the present situation and embarrassment of over-releasing and under-vegetarianism. The so-called "excess release" mainly refers to the excess investment in buying raw materials for release, but people still eat what they should, which can not be reduced. On the contrary, it may increase the capture and killing of raw materials, because buying raw materials for release essentially increases the market for catching raw materials to meet everyone's release needs. The so-called vegetarian shortage mainly refers to the shortage of vegetarian supply and consumption. On the one hand, it is difficult for vegetarians to find convenient vegetarian suppliers in the catering market; On the other hand, there are not many vegetarian suppliers, and it is difficult to obtain enough vegetarian demand, which leads to operational difficulties.

Thirdly, innovation-the practical thinking of generalized release. The generalized release advocated by Master Kuan Jian is not limited to buying raw materials, but includes fast release (inviting people to be vegetarian is also a new fashion to promote everyone to be vegetarian), vegetarianism and persuading people to be vegetarian, traditional release according to the law (saving lives in times of danger, releasing them in times of difficulty, and releasing them ecologically), saving lives, providing psychological relief (promoting Buddhism, psychological counseling, anti-suicide, depression), animal protection and environmental protection. Among them, the release from fasting is an innovation in the form of release. For example, a vegetarian group (or individual) establishes a strategic partnership with a vegetarian restaurant (especially those who have operational difficulties), and takes out a certain amount of vegetarian money to invite people to eat vegetarian meals for free in this vegetarian restaurant. A sign can be placed at the entrance of the store: "XXX yuan is given to support XX free vegetarian meals in order to pray for good health, happy family, smooth work and all the best, and the number of places is limited. Those who need it please go to XX to collect free vegetarian meal coupons." This kind of release, first, it is a radical release; Second, protect the environment; Third, send health to everyone; Fourth, people who serve vegetarian food have done charity, and those with low economic income can come to get vegetarian food; Fifth, there is a positive public opinion effect; Sixth, it is naturally a support for vegetarian restaurants, vegetarian industry and vegetarian culture ...

The merits and benefits of fasting again. First, fasting itself is releasing animals. Without buying or selling, there is no killing, because it reduces the market for killing animals and avoids all possible drawbacks in the current common release activities. Therefore, fasting is a radical release; Second, the threshold is low, and anyone, even those who are poor and have little cultural knowledge, can do it simply and easily, which is convenient for popularization, especially by adopting the new way of "internet plus", which can form love interaction and create a new lifestyle; Third, it is charity behavior, which can help the disadvantaged groups; Fourth, it can promote social harmony, make devotees get social respect, transmit positive energy, rebuild people's moral mutual trust and improve the quality of the people; Fifth, it has carried forward the excellent traditional cultural spirit of the Chinese nation, such as being charitable; Sixth, the activities of fasting and releasing people can meet the public's demand for good deeds and love, and have the function of changing customs; Seventh, the release from fast food can protect the environment, save energy and reduce emissions, without pollution and any "sequelae"; Eighth, Fengzhai advocates asking others to be vegetarian, which is healthy, healthy, fashionable and beneficial to the body and mind; Ninth, the release from fasting can encourage and promote the development of vegetarian industry. Fengzhai has at least these nine merits and benefits.

Finally, it's stated once again that to advocate the release by fasting is not to resist the traditional release, but to advocate the release by wisdom as the law (otherwise it may be of little significance or even harmful), and the release by fasting is another form of release, which is a beneficial supplement to the release, belongs to the generalized release, and is also a kind of release that is beneficial without harm, convenient and easy. Therefore, we should vigorously advocate and popularize it! Whoever is willing to do the concept of "fasting and releasing" put forward by Master Kuanjian can realize it immediately. You can meet many Buddhist friends and make many good relationships by participating in fasting and releasing people.

I agree with Master Kuan Jian's concept of "fasting and releasing" and recommend it to my friends. Through my matchmaking, the Tiankai Temple fasting group actually sponsored a public welfare activity of Fangshan Community Psychological Counseling and Assistance Center by providing free vegetarian lunch.

In a word, "fasting and releasing" is the most fundamental release, which has profound spiritual value and realistic social significance.
