My career as a private teacher

At the weekend, students and teachers went home, and I stayed at school because it was a long way home. Walking around the campus, or sitting quietly in the office alone, there is no noise in class.

Peony, rose, rose, dandelion and Phalaenopsis are in full bloom in flower ponds and nurseries. When you see things and think of people, you can't help but think of many past events. In the dim light, I have been in my fifties inadvertently, and it is inevitable that I am a little sad.

The most unforgettable thing is my 34-year teaching career. Looking back on the ups and downs of these 30 years, the most impressive thing should be the experience of being a private teacher.

What is private education? According to the Dictionary of Education, private teachers refer to "teachers and staff who are not included in the national teacher establishment in primary and secondary schools in China. The main form of supplementing the shortage of teachers for popularizing primary education in rural areas.

Private teachers are part of primary and secondary school teachers and an important force in popularizing nine-year compulsory education in rural areas of China. For a long time, the majority of private teachers have devoted themselves to people's education, devoted themselves to their duties and worked hard, and made certain contributions to rural education and rural social development in China.

The work and life of private teachers are extremely hard. They are old and young. They cultivate their own "responsibility fields" while teaching. In order not to delay their work, the farm work in the "responsibility field" can only be done in the morning and evening and during the rest time, which is much harder than ordinary people. Sometimes wages can't be cashed, and we can only rely on the little food collected from other places to support our families. Although the salary is low, they are responsible for important work at school, and sometimes they are faced with the dilemma of being dismissed at any time. It can be said that they are walking on thin ice at work.

I am a private teacher. When I first went to work, most rural schools were private teachers. Each school has only one or two public teachers, and some schools don't even have public teachers. At that time, our teacher was called "private school teacher", and when he came to normal school for further study, he was more than ten years older than the normal students of the same session. Therefore, teachers and students in normal schools called us "private school teacher" and our class called "private school teacher class". Now some young people call us "old private school teacher".

I was born in Hejing, a small village on the Yellow River beach at the junction of the southeast edge of Wuzhi County, Jiaozuo, Henan Province. There are only dozens of families with 300 to 400 people in the village. 1985. At that time, I was only 15 years old, and I chose to take the exam in normal school. This may stem from my desire to leave the countryside as soon as possible. As a result, I failed the list and had to choose to study in the second senior middle school of the railway station. Everything is easy to discuss in the future.

Probably 1988, graduated from high school, and then worked as a temporary worker with my uncle in the engineering team of the county highway bureau. That autumn, my father suddenly ran to the county seat and asked me to come back. He said that the folks who worked in the town education office introduced me a message to participate in the teacher recruitment of a village-run junior high school called Feng 'an in the northernmost part of Qiaomiao Township. When I was hired, I became a teacher. Yes, working part-time is not my way out, so I choose to come back to participate in the recruitment. After five passes and six generals, I was given full marks in Chinese and won the first place. This school is very small, it is also a civil and military school, and it is also a village-run school patched together by several natural villages: a few bungalows in each class of Grade One, Grade Two, Grade Three, Grade Four and Grade Five, three classes in junior high school, eight students in Grade One, four students in Grade Three, and more than 30 students in Grade Two.

Go to work by bike every day in summer. What about winter? School accommodation. Because one morning, when I got to school, my hat was covered with frost. The students said he looked like an old man with a white beard. Once his mouth and chin were frozen, leaving a scar because he was not treated in time.

On Saturday and Sunday, when the master is resting, the teacher who makes up lessons will go to the students' home to eat the "rice pie" (hundred meals) in the village. Although a little embarrassed, the people in those villages are very enthusiastic, tired but happy. If we do this, we can only try our best to teach our children well and do our duty to them!

I persisted for one semester. With the help of junior high school teacher Wang, I begged the leaders of the township central school to transfer me to Longsheng Primary School, which is much bigger than the seed field primary school. There are more than 20 students in each grade, only a dozen miles away from home. In the 1980s and 1990s, the conditions of rural primary schools were very simple. The school building is an old-fashioned tile house with five classrooms and an office. The location of this school is very good. It is located in front of a hillside, with a wide view in front and a pine forest on the hillside behind, which is close to the mountains and waters. There is no sports equipment on the playground except a broken basketball stand. Why is there only one basketball stand? It is said that this school was originally jointly run by two villages. Later, when the village set up its own school, it set up a basketball stand.

I was a subject teacher when I first went there. I teach all kinds of subjects, including sports, nature, art and so on. I'm going to write several lesson plans, and after one semester, I'll start to be a class teacher. Working conditions are very difficult. You need to bring food from home at noon. It's cold when you eat, and it's better in winter. I can put the lunch box on the stove and bake it before eating. I remember once a pupil surnamed Wang came back early at noon, looked at my cold meal and said to me, "Teacher, it's too hard to be a teacher!" " I said, "I don't feel bitter!" He said, "Why don't you cry? I can't go home for a hot meal at noon. How bitter! I don't want to be a teacher when I grow up. "At that time, my heart was sour, and I thought the child was cute.

Being unfamiliar here, the work is very difficult. Because I am a foreigner, village leaders and parents have come to know about it, and it is difficult to get started. Fortunately, several junior high school students in that village helped me a lot. There is also a teacher Liu from this village, who is very honest and frank. We can talk it over and help me in my work and life. I will never forget it. Married and married a year later, the burden of life became heavier. At that time, private teachers were owned by the village, and their superiors only gave them a living allowance of more than ten dollars. The economy of this village is relatively poor, and there is no money to support it for several years. Therefore, they can only rely on the monthly subsidy of more than ten yuan from the education department to maintain their lives. At least there is a little responsibility field at home, so they have to take care of these acres of responsibility fields in their spare time until the income in autumn fills the family's economy and lives.

In order to live comfortably, we also properly contract some other people's land every year, which means a lot more farm work and we are often exhausted when we are busy. Cold and summer alternate, and commuting by bike is particularly cold in winter. These difficulties can be overcome. The most troublesome thing is that it is rainy in summer and the roads are muddy. Often I can't ride halfway, so I have to pick up my bike and ride me. I remember one time I couldn't carry it anymore, so I simply hid my car in the grass by the side of the road. I didn't have a good class this day, and I have been wondering if my bike can be stolen, but I know that my bike is now comparable to a car! It's really hard to work in Longsheng Primary School for several years, but I'm still full of energy. After all, fate has given me such an opportunity, and I will seize it!

I remember someone said, "where there is an ideal place, hell can also become heaven;" Where there is hope, pain becomes happiness. "It's as if I caught a thin vine on the cliff and held it tightly. I learned a lesson from two years ago. I always spoke carefully when I was at school, constantly groped for social experience, worked diligently and diligently, and soon won the recognition of my parents. I dare not neglect my studies, so I teach myself high school courses in my spare time. Heaven has eyes! 1993 finally ushered in the opportunity of formal examination, and I don't know if I am too happy or too nervous. I dropped a page in the exam, lost all 20 points, and finally fell out of the list. This mistake can be described as unforgettable for life, which kept me awake for more than a month. Until now, I still can't forgive myself. Fate played a trick on me, but I can never admit it. 1996 here comes the opportunity again. This time, I was particularly successful and was admitted to Xinxiang Normal University with the second place in the county.

The tuition fee of Xinxiang Normal University is 4,400 yuan per year, and the living expenses are not a small expense. Four years is also a very unusual two years. Our teachers and students are very different from other normal students. Everyone has a lot of responsibilities, whether financial or psychological. Although we are not very happy, we especially cherish this time and our friendship. I remember Wang Jianzeng of the Academic Affairs Office wrote this passage in the graduation yearbook. This is a very unusual group of students, who are shouldering their jobs and careers, with children and the elderly behind them.

Two years passed in a hurry, and I paid a lot of hardships and diligence, and gained the gold of knowledge. Although parting is just around the corner, friendship-yours and ours-will last forever. Not only in yesterday's manners and smiles, but also in this commemorative book, in our mutual understanding and expectation. "I think Chen's message is a true portrayal of our students in the civil teachers' class. Thankfully, I successfully became a public teacher after the expiration of my study, and finally ended my career as a private teacher. At that time, I was happy beyond description.

Private education is really bitter. Now I'm not a private teacher. From 1985 to 1996, I finally realized my dream of normal education. From 1987 to 1996, I completely got rid of the "aura" of "private teachers". I sincerely thank the country for its good policies. One of the ups and downs, ups and downs, vividly. Looking back, I can't help but feel sad and happy. I walked from the darkness of despair to the lucky light, feeling a little sad. I walked hard all the way, always believing that there would be a ray of warm sunshine ahead, and always believing that fortune would meet unexpectedly. I feel very lucky and grateful. I thank my parents for giving me life, my country for giving me good policies, and my relatives and friends for their selfless help!
