Introduction to Hengyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital

Hengyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital was founded in 1951. It is the only national third-level maternal and child health hospital and women's and children's specialist hospital in Hengyang City and Hengyang region that integrates maternal and child health care, medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. Hospital 1 is responsible for the health care of 7.4 million people and women and children in five districts, five counties and two cities. It is Hengyang City’s maternal and child health professional technical training and maternal and child health business guidance center. It was rated as a “National Baby-Friendly Hospital” by the Ministry of Health. The hospital has successively won the titles of "National Civilized Unit", "National Demonstration Hospital for People's Peace of Mind", and "National March 8th Red Flag Collective". It is a designated unit for medical insurance and rural cooperative medical care in Hengyang City. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Health Care Department were rated as provincial-level women's civilized demonstration posts. In 2004, Dean Liu Zhiwei was rated as the Outstanding Dean of Hunan Province, and Chairman of the Trade Union Wang Guitian won the National May Day Labor Medal.
