Historical evolution

In August 2002, the foundation laying ceremony of Chengdu Neusoft Information Technology Vocational College was held at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. In 2003, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Chengdu Neusoft Information Technology Vocational College was established to carry out higher vocational education. It was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first 35 national-level demonstration software vocational and technical colleges.

In April 2005, the college was awarded the "National Torch Plan Chengdu Digital Entertainment Industrialization Talent Training Base". In September, the college was awarded the “National Digital Media Technology Industrialization Talent Training Base”. In June 2010, the college became the talent training base of China’s Famous Software City (Chengdu).

In May 2011, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to Chengdu Neusoft University, becoming the first independently established private undergraduate university in Sichuan Province.
