The History and Culture of Neiqiu County

Neiqiu County is the birthplace of Bian Que culture, known as the "hometown of Bian Que culture", and it is the holy place for practicing medicine, the fief before death and the burial place after death of Bian Que, the ancestor of traditional Chinese medicine. China Shentou Bianque Temple is the largest Bianque Temple Group in China, a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national AAAA-level scenic spot. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Neiqiu Ancient City was a famous porcelain capital in China. The "White Star Porcelain" civilization, which represents the history of China ceramics, originated from Neiqiu and is known as the "hometown of Yao Xing culture". The legend of Cowherd and Weaver Girl and the birthplace of Qixi culture are in Neiqiu, where Guo Ju, one of the 24 famous stories of filial piety in history, won the gold medal. The predecessor of modern theater-Niuwang Temple Theater and the treasure house of Buddhist sculpture art-Qianfo Pavilion is well preserved in China, and together with Zhong Qiu Academy, Qiting Temple, Zhang Bin Tomb, Huangcha and Shentou Ancient Residential Village, it forms a unique and rich cultural landscape in Neiqiu.
