First, add the main color (the color with large dosage and low tinting power), then slowly add the dark color (or tinting) with high dyeing ability, constantly stir and observe the color change at any time. From shallow to deep, especially add pigments with strong coloring power, and don't overdo it.

Wet template and dry template

In color matching, the colors of paint and dry film will be slightly different. When all kinds of paints are dry, their colors will deepen. Therefore, if it is a dry sample, the color matching paint should wait until it is dry before measuring the color; If it is a wet sample, you can drop the sample into the paint to see if the two colors are the same.

Preparation of colorful coatings

When preparing colorful coatings, the coatings with the same selectivity should be mixed with each other, and the solvent system should also be mutually soluble. Otherwise, due to the poor miscibility of the coating, the quality will be affected, and even delamination, precipitation or gelatinization will occur, making it unusable.

Colors often have different color heads.

Because colors often have different color heads, if they are matched with positive green, yellow is generally used with green heads and blue with yellow heads; When purple and red are matched, blue with red head and red with blue head should be adopted; When matching orange, use red with yellow head and yellow with red head.

Add auxiliary materials

Pay attention to the color of auxiliary materials such as drier, curing agent and diluent, so as not to affect the color.

Using the slightly transparent film of color paint and choosing the appropriate background color can make the color of top coat more vivid than the original paint. This is a kind of color produced by superimposing the background color and the primary color according to the principle of natural reflection and absorption, which is called transparent color in coating engineering. For example, yellow primer can make red more vivid, gray primer can make red more vivid, positive blue primer can make black more vivid, and water blue primer can make white more clean and innocent.
