The school was founded on 1958. After 59 years of construction and development, it has become a local and applied undergraduate college with pedagogy as the main subject, covering arts, science, engineering, management and art.

The school 1962 was renamed as Cangzhou Normal School, 1970 was merged into Botou Normal School, 1976 was transformed into Cangzhou Normal School, 1984 was upgraded to Cangzhou Normal College, and191May was merged into Cangzhou Normal College. Cangzhou Normal School, Cangzhou Normal School and Cangzhou Agricultural Machinery Engineering School were merged into Cangzhou Normal College. On March 20 10, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as "Cangzhou Normal University". 20 14 confers the right to confer bachelor's degrees.
