Guiyang Railway Engineering School was established in July, 1984. Its predecessor was the Party School of the Fifth Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways, which was founded in 1979. The Party School of the Fifth Bureau merged with Guiyang Railway Technical School on 1999. In 2004, the Party School was renamed as China Railway Fifth Bureau (Group) Training Center. The school has been merged and renamed several times, and has been affiliated to China Railway Fifth Bureau (Group) Company.

Guiyang Electronic Vocational School was developed on the basis of the former Guizhou Television Factory Staff Education and Training Center.
