A few years ago, two members of the Macao Couplets Association jointly offered a reward, saying:

Moonlight screen window, everyone is clear;

According to legend, this couplet was written by Ji Xiaolan, a great scholar in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. The original couplets did not have the word "Ming". Later, someone added the word "Ming" at the beginning of the sentence to make it more difficult, thus making it an absolute not to marry for 300 years. As soon as the couplets were signed, friends on both sides of the Taiwan Strait became excited. Unfortunately, no one was found and only six "better" couplets were judged. Some of them, such as "the official enters the iron net, the official makes the fox fly" and "the ceremony of Demen is handed down, and Weichi Gong is honored", so the Macau Couplet Association had to raise the previous bonus of HK$ 6,000 to HK$ 30,000 and reward the couplets again. Later, someone said, "It's snowing in the sky and it's raining in Zhou Enlai, Yu Xiang." However, the deficiency lies in the fact that Zhuge Liang's surname is Shan, while Zhou Enlai's surname is Shan, which ignores the ingenious combination of the word "Zhuge Liang" and its name, which is not only related to each other's word meaning, but also closely related to the specific thing "screen window". Mr. kimball later wrote this couplet in one of his articles:

The breeze bathes the phoenix pavilion, and the law is always clear everywhere.

Fengge: During the period of Tang Gaozong, Wuzong and Xuanzong, Zhongshu Province was renamed Fengge, which was in charge of military orders and assisted the emperor in charge of major policies. Shangguanzheng: A native of Kaifeng in Song Dynasty, with a compound surname of Shangguan, a single name and a clear word. He is a great general in Zuo Long. The main idea of this sentence is: if the highest decision-making body of the country can bathe in the wind of incorruptibility and always adhere to integrity when formulating and promulgating government decrees, then officials above the people will have to be honest and incorruptible. Taking the breeze as the bright moon, Fengge as the screen window, Everywhere as the individual, Shangguanzheng as Zhuge Liang, the meaning is neat and reasonable, and Chang as the hole. The part of speech is slightly flawed, but it is still a good antithesis of couplets.

At first, it was only carried out at the local port of Macao; Then the news spread to the surrounding areas of Macao, and Shenzhen, Foshan, Guangzhou and other places successively joined the joint recruitment activities in Macao; Followed by people and experts from other provinces and cities such as Hunan and Shanghai; From Heilongjiang in the north, Yunnan in the south and Xinjiang in the west, almost all people in China participated in this movement. The move to win the alliance shocked the world, and overseas Chinese on five continents also sent their application manuscripts to Macao. The deadline for the election has passed, but I can't stop. I put it off again and again. Until the extension can't be postponed, I have received more than 70 thousand campaign bids. Macao Couplets Association is an amateur academic society. All members have full-time jobs, and the organization has no money, even if it has to pay the postage for more than 20,000 letters. However, there are many "fans" who are keen on traditional culture in the town. They donated the necessary funds for the campaign. Two doctors initially contributed HK$ 6,000, and later a businesswoman joined in, increasing it to HK$ 30,000 as a bonus for the "Couple Award".

What kind of loneliness is this? According to legend, Ji Xiaolan, the editor-in-chief of Sikuquanshu during the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, once boasted that the world was invincible, so his wife wrote this pair of couplets, saying: Everyone is wise when the moon shines on the screen window. This association really stumped the quick-thinking genius. Later, someone added the word "Ming" before the word "month", which made it more difficult for people to write a couplet.

"The bright moon shines on the screen window, and everyone knows it" is an ancient theme: the scenery on a moonlit night. When the bright moon shines into the screen window, every window hole is illuminated, and many pavilions (Ge Xie Ge Sheng) are illuminated. What a silver world it is under the moonlight. As far as artistic conception is concerned, this sentence of five words and seven languages can only be considered as "average", but as far as its language application skills are concerned, it can be described as "difficult". The main difficulty lies in the seven words "Everyone is happy". "All Kongming" is equal to "Zhuge (Pavilion) is bright", while "Zhuge Liang" is a person's name and "Kongming" is an ideographic character of "bright". The relationship and order between them can be expressed as: word+compound surname+first name. In terms of meaning, "Gege" is equivalent to the first word "Zhu" of compound surname, and "Kong" is similar to the second word "Ge" of compound surname. In addition, there is a flat voice mode, its requirements are:

It is easy to reach a consensus on the requirement of sound and meaning coupling, and the five standards put forward by Mr. Deng Jingbin, chairman of Macao Couplets Association, have long been accepted by fans. These five criteria are: first, to meet the basic requirements of couplets (equal number of words, same sentence pattern, relative part of speech, level and harmonious, and related meanings); Second, using the skills of emphasizing words, the first word is the same as the ninth word; Third, the last five words are homophonic and connected with meaning; Fourth, the last five words are "22 1", which have a certain correspondence; Fifth, the alliance is naturally smooth and can match the upper alliance. Candidates all take Zhuge Liang as a breakthrough. If these five words are right, you can make a couple. As a result, historical figures with compound surnames stepped onto the altar in 1990s, such as Jingde Weichi Gong, Zi Chang Sima Qian, Biao Sheng Si Kongtu, Zi Lingzhi, Yong Shu Ouyang Xiu, Yuan Zhen Xia Houdun and Zi Shi Gong Sunlong. Even single surnames are not backward: Bai Letian in Xiangshan, Wang Xizhi in Shao Yi, Mei Lanfang in Huaying, Zhou Enlai in Yu Xiang ... However, these are deliberate works, and few people are natural. After a year and two months of election, the bonus of 30 thousand yuan for "good couple" was still suspended. The success of this comparison is mainly manifested in the fact that "word+compound surname+name" can be integrated with the context, and it can't be solved at all (unlike Wei Chi in Zunde Weichi Gong). ) "Murong", "admire his appearance" and admire his appearance "Zhuang Yan". From the perspective of artistic creation, the activity of soliciting couplets attracted or mobilized Chinese from five continents to engage in the practice of couplets creation, and received unexpected results. There are only twelve words in the couplet or couplet, but its artistic connotation is extremely rich: apart from the pattern of modern poetry, the meaning of couplet is synonymous with the name of a person, and "Ming" and "Liang" can even be matched into words. The Kong Yuan adverb of "Kongming" indicates the degree, but it is interpreted as the hole in the window in the couplet. The author skillfully uses homonyms to create peculiar rhetorical effects. In addition, there is the reverberation of the language stream composed of heavy word stress, and the name exudes the beauty of homophonic, and the coupling is more anthropomorphic. In a word, twelve couplets and twenty-four couplets are fine works of art that combine various techniques. The expropriation of Macao provided an opportunity and garden for Chinese people on five continents to carry forward the quintessence of the country and jointly created this fine work of art.

As an enthusiastic person and a latecomer, the author was fortunate to participate in its prosperity and benefited a lot. Once, a stunt and a couplet were given to the sages of Macao couplets. Its unique yue:

One is lonelier than a thousand people, and Kyushu competes to sing Kongming Song;

Make waves to reject Qiantang water, and mirror the sea to attract thousands of waves.

Its couplet says:

Although the skill of carving insects can add luster to my humble abode, how can he say it is a skill of carving insects?
