I want to be a newspaper reporter, but I have a college degree. What should I do?

A college degree is enough. As long as you successfully apply for a job and sign a labor contract with the newspaper, you are eligible to apply for a journalist's card.

The personnel who receive the press card in news organizations must meet the following conditions at the same time: 00 (1) Abide by national laws and regulations and journalists' professional ethics; 00 (two) have a college degree or above and obtain the qualification of news editing recognized by the relevant departments of the State Council; 00 (3) Personnel engaged in news gathering and editing within the establishment of news organizations, or those who have been formally employed by news organizations to work in news gathering and editing posts and have more than 1 year news gathering and editing experience. The formal employment of news organizations mentioned in this paper refers to the signing of labor contracts between news editors and their news organizations. Article 10 Journalists' cards shall not be issued to the following persons: 00 (1) Non-editorial staff in party affairs, administration, logistics, management, advertising, engineering and technology of news organizations; 00 (2) Staff outside news organizations, including correspondents and contributing writers who provide articles or programs for news organizations, and other personnel who provide news information for news organizations full-time or part-time; 00 (three) teaching counseling newspapers, university newspaper staff and periodical editors without news interview business; 00 (4) Persons with bad working records, those whose press cards have been revoked by the administrative department of press and publication, and those who are in the punishment period or have been subjected to criminal punishment.
