Graduates can work in county and township veterinary administrative departments, animal quarantine stations, animal slaughtering enterprises, animal disease control centers, animal/pet hospitals, large-scale breeding enterprises, feed enterprises and veterinary drug enterprises in animal disease prevention and control, animal quarantine officers, veterinary laboratory technicians, licensed assistant veterinarians, veterinary technicians, feed technicians, animal feeding management, pasture management, etc.

Animal husbandry is beneficial agriculture. There are more than 60,000 animal husbandry and veterinary institutions in provinces, prefectures, counties and townships in China, but the number of animal husbandry and veterinary technicians is insufficient and their quality is low. Among the technicians, only 17.8% have college education. In Wenzhou City alone, about 80% of township animal husbandry and veterinary doctors need to create more than 200 posts in 3-5 years.

A large number of inspection and quarantine personnel are urgently needed for livestock and poultry trading and slaughter in urban and rural areas.

There is a serious shortage of technicians in breeding companies and farms, and a large number of highly skilled animal husbandry and veterinary talents are urgently needed. The increase of pet breeding in cities and towns provides more and wider employment opportunities for higher vocational graduates.
