(International Criminal Police Organization)

ICPO is an international criminal police organization, also known as Interpol. Its predecessor was the International Criminal Police Committee (ICPC) established in 1923. 1952 Japan INTERPOL joined. 1956 adopted the Charter of the International Criminal Police Agency, thus creating the current International Criminal Police Organization. Headquartered in Lyon, France, it has more than 170 participating countries.

Interpol, established in 1923, specializes in investigating and cracking down on cross-border crimes. Its headquarters was originally located in Vienna and merged with Germany. The organization was later taken over by the German secret police and became a branch of the Gestapo.
