Which province does Wusong belong to?

Wusong belongs to Shanghai, in the north of Shanghai, China, and the Huangpu River flows into the west side of the Yangtze River estuary (Wusongkou), which historically belongs to Songbei area. It is often said that the standard of zero meters above sea level in Wusongkou is located here. At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it was a village in the Yangtze River estuary called Huxiang Bridge, where fishermen gathered and gradually became a town.

In the third year of Yongzheng, Wusong Daying, originally located in Baoshan County, Pudong, moved here and became a famous town of Wusong. It has always been the gateway, foreign trade port and military stronghold of Shanghai, and its reputation once resounded through Shanghai in modern times, so modern Shanghai was called Songhu. In order to cooperate with the construction of Baosteel, 1980 established Wusong District, and 1988 merged with Baoshan County to form Baoshan District.
