Chengyang Vocational College was founded in 1958, covering an area of 82 mu, with a total construction area of over 42,000 square meters. There are 294 faculty members, mainly offering 9 majors, such as automobile operation and maintenance, preschool education, architecture, electrical technology application, computer application, accounting, air conditioning and refrigeration operation and maintenance, tourism service and management, and communication technology. It is a state-level technical secondary school with more than 3,200 full-time students.

The school adheres to the school philosophy of "building a harmonious campus and cultivating a golden blue collar". In 2009, it won the honorary titles of Qingdao Teaching Demonstration School, Qingdao Vocational Education Advanced Unit, Qingdao School Supervision and Evaluation Excellent Grade School and National Moral Education Management Advanced School.

The school promotes characteristic education with the construction of backbone majors. Automobile maintenance, preschool education and architecture are key majors at the municipal level.
