What does Bengbu mean?

Bengbu literally means a place rich in mussels. Now it is the name of the city, named after it in northern Anhui Province.

Bengbu City, referred to as Mingzhu City for short, consists of four municipal districts, namely bengshan district, Yu Hui, Huaishang and Longzihu, and governs Huaiyuan, Guzhen and Wuhe counties. During the Republic of China, it was the residence of Anhui military government and Fengyang county government.

Sizhou Opera, also known as Soul-pulling Opera, is of the same origin as Liuqin Opera in Shandong, Jiangsu and Henan.

Fengyang Huagu Opera, also known as micro-carved Huagu Opera and micro-carved Huagu Opera, originated in Huaiwei Town, Longzihu District, Bengbu City. Bengbu is not only the birthplace of Fengyang ancient painting and drama, but also the birthplace of Fengyang ancient painting and drama of the North School.
