Where is Liujiaxia?

Liujiaxia belongs to the famous Lanzhou Mountain Strange Gorge Scenic Area.

In the upper reaches of the Yellow River, many canyons and rivers appear alternately. The river passes through a deep valley with thousands of rocks and walls, and the water potential is galloping for Malik, and the scenery is very spectacular. The most famous is Liujiaxia. Liujiaxia is located at the junction of Qinghai and Gansu, about 80 kilometers southwest of Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu.

Liujiaxia Reservoir has large hydropower stations, which can supply power to Shaanxi, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. Visiting Liujiaxia, you can go upstream by boat, the river is clear and the waves splash; After entering the canyon, but seeing the cross-strait Qifeng confrontation, the scenery is changeable, comparable to Guilin landscape, the Yangtze River Wuxia. Out of the canyon, there is a mountain lake in front of you. The lake is rippling with blue sky and white clouds, with lakes and mountains. When you visit Liujiaxia, you can go upstream by boat, but when you enter the gorge and see the peaks on both sides of the strait confronting each other, you will think it is Guilin's landscape. At first glance, you will think it is the Wuxia Gorge of the Yangtze River, which shows that the scenery of Liujiaxia is changeable. Out of the canyon, there is a mountain lake in front of you. The lake is rippling with blue sky and white clouds, with lakes and mountains. The Yellow River flows into Taohe River before flowing through Liujiaxia to Lanzhou. Large tributaries such as Datong River and Huangshui River.

Above Lanzhou, the sediment concentration of the Yellow River is not much, even in flood season, the sediment concentration is around 5%. Sediment mainly comes from the above tributaries, and little from the main stream. According to the observation records, in the basin areas above Lanzhou, the average annual sediment loss per square kilometer is about 1000 metric tons. The Yellow River water comes here, turns a 90-degree sharp turn, and then flows west through the canyon. When visiting Liujiaxia, you can go upstream by boat. Into the gorge, you can see the confrontation between the peaks and peaks on both sides of the strait, and the pen is towering, which can be compared with Guilin's landscape. The scenery of Liujiaxia is changeable. After leaving the gorge, there is a mountain lake in front of you. The lake is rippling with blue waves and has a unique flavor. Liujiaxia Reservoir has a storage capacity of 5.7 billion cubic meters and a water area of 1.30 square kilometers, extending from southwest to northeast, reaching 54 kilometers. The dam is147m high and 840m long. There is a spillway 700 meters long and 80 meters wide on the right bank of the dam.

Below the dam is the power plant, and five large generator sets are arranged in the underground hall, with a total installed capacity of 654.38+0.225 million kilowatts and an annual power generation of 5.7 billion kWh. Liujiaxia Hydropower Station connects the power grids of Shaanxi, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. Located in the plateau canyon, the reservoir is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau" with spectacular scenery. On the dam of the reservoir, there are power plants and Liujiaxia Tourism Company to provide various cruise ships. Visitors can visit Bingling Temple Grottoes at the southwest end of the reservoir by boat. The general journey takes about two to three hours, and it takes about one and a half hours by speedboat.
