Is the capital water state-owned?

Capital Water is not a state-owned enterprise. The full name of Capital Water is Tongling Capital Water Co., Ltd. Tongling Capital Water Co., Ltd. was restructured and established in May 2006. It was established by Beijing Capital Eco-environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Capital Co., Ltd., renamed on June 202 1, 18) and Tongling Municipal People's Government, in which Capital Environmental Protection Group holds 70% of the shares and Tongling Municipal Government holds 30%. Tongling took the lead in owning the franchise of Tongling urban water supply granted by Tongling Municipal Government for 30 years.

Tongling Capital Water Co., Ltd. currently has three water plants, namely the First Water Plant (with a scale of 50,000 tons/day), the Second Water Plant (with a scale of 70,000 tons/day) and the Binjiang Water Plant (with a scale of 300,000 tons/day), with a total water supply capacity of 420,000 tons/day. In addition, Dongcheng Water Plant is being put into trial operation (completed in September 2020), with the scale of six water intake pumping stations, including Xinmin Water Intake Pumping Station and Binjiang Water Intake Pumping Station, as well as 10 large-scale regional water supply pressurized pumping station and 36 medium-sized community water supply pressurized pumping stations.
