In 1921, the factory was formally established, initially named Wuzhou Guben Soap Pharmaceutical Factory, and later renamed Wuzhou No.2 Pharmaceutical Factory and renamed Wuzhou Pharmaceutical Factory. It was once named Shanghai Fifth Pharmaceutical Factory.
