It is best to enter the upstream raw material enterprises, such as PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, BP, Ecson Mobil, Shell and other oil exploitation companies, while others are downstream enterprises, such as BASF, Dow, Total, DuPont and Bayer (some medicines), and use petroleum raw materials for deep processing to make various products. There are also some specialized chemical companies, such as coating company (PPG), rubber company (Michelin) and fast-moving consumer goods company (P&G, Unilever). You don't have to study this major, just like when I just graduated, it would be nice if one-third of my class studied this major, and many people changed careers. Chemical industry is toxic and the working conditions are poor (chemical plants are generally in sparsely populated places), which is harmful to health. The strongest chemical industries in China are Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong.
