More than half of Dongfeng's 6.5438+0.6 million employees work in Wuhan, including thousands of related parts enterprises, with hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities and huge financial taxes behind them.
Wuhan is the fourth largest automobile production base in China, and Wuhan automobile manufacturing industry with Dongfeng Motor Group as the core is the largest pillar industry in the region. According to official website data of Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in 20 19 years, the automobile output in Wuhan was1548,500 vehicles. In other words, there are more than 4,000 cars off the assembly line every day in Wuhan.
Automobile manufacturing industry is one of the earliest industries in Wuhan to resume work, and it has been concerned by all parties. With the resumption of production of Shenlong Automobile Wuhan Plant and Dongfeng Renault Wuhan Plant on March 25th and 30th, respectively, all the production plants of Dongfeng four major passenger car companies in Wuhan resumed production. In the past month, at the same time, hundreds of related parts suppliers in Wuhan have started to return to work. With Dongfeng Motor Group as the core, the supply chain system of Wuhan automobile industry was established and the development "engine" was restarted.
However, although the impact of the epidemic on the production end is gradually easing, it is still full of challenges for Dongfeng Motor to return to the right track.
Automobile production capacity is gradually rising.
Dongfeng Motor Group is located in Wuhan * * *, with six automobile plants, namely Dongfeng Passenger Car, Dongfeng Honda, Shenlong Automobile and Dongfeng Renault, with an annual production capacity of over one million vehicles.
On March 1 1, Dongfeng Honda and Dongfeng passenger cars resumed production gradually with the approval of the government. Starting from March 12, Dongfeng Honda and Dongfeng passenger cars began to gradually resume work and production in stages, and they were the first batch of approved manufacturing plants in Wuhan. On March 23, Dongfeng Honda and Dongfeng passenger car factory resumed production simultaneously. At present, the employees of the above two companies have basically arrived at their posts, and the production capacity has basically returned to the same period last year.
Relevant persons of Dongfeng passenger car told think tank Jun that the production line of Wuhan factory resumed 9JPH (i.e. 9 vehicles per hour) in March 12; On March 22nd, 24JPH started single-shift production; Production started at a speed of 30JPH on March 28th, with a daily output of about 280 units. At present, all the production lines have resumed production, and the production capacity has returned to the same level of 20 19. As of March 27th, the on-the-job rate of front-line employees of the company was 97%.
Dongfeng Honda is the most affected manufacturer in Wuhan, and its three factories in China are all located in Wuhan, so the demand for resumption of production is more urgent. It is understood that the first factory of Dongfeng Honda basically reached full production in a single shift on March 25. Supply chain pressure
A car is made up of thousands of parts. Without a part, the whole vehicle can't get off the assembly line. Because automobile production has great local production characteristics, there are often many first-,second-and third-class parts suppliers near large-scale vehicle production bases. There are thousands of parts suppliers in Wuhan alone.

Think tank Jun learned that Dongfeng's main component subsidiaries have basically resumed production. In addition, Bosch, Valeo, Garrett and other large multinational auto parts factories in Wuhan also resumed production in March.
Dongfeng passenger car told think tank Jun that all 448 first-tier suppliers of the company have resumed work, with a resumption rate of100%; The return-to-work rate of external secondary suppliers in Wuhan is 65,438+0,000%, and the return-to-work rate of 224 secondary suppliers in Wuhan is 97%, except for 6 domestic and foreign suppliers who are preparing personnel and materials.
"After the outbreak, we found out the supplier's spare parts supply problem for the first time. At present, there is not much risk in the supply of spare parts for Dongfeng Citroen. " Dongfeng Citroen said to think tank Jun.
At present, the spare parts supply of automobile enterprises in Wuhan is gradually recovering, and the pressure of secondary suppliers in the city will also be alleviated with the unsealing of Wuhan.
On April 5, a person from a second-tier supplier company of Dongfeng Honda in Optics Valley told think tank Jun that due to the rapid increase of Dongfeng Honda's production capacity, there is a great demand for spare parts. Since April, the company began to work overtime to ensure supply.
"Now the logistics has not been opened, and there are not many raw material stocks. However, after April 8, this pressure is believed to be alleviated. " The above suppliers told think tank jun.
In the past few months, secondary suppliers in Wuhan, especially small and medium-sized parts enterprises, have suffered a huge blow. Relevant persons from two local third-tier suppliers of small and medium-sized parts told think tank Jun that they are still in contact with various departments and hope to resume production.
Among them, a spare parts company that produces automobile oil valves told think tank Jun that the company has not produced for three months, and the current financial pressure is huge. After returning to work, you may face the problem of not paying wages, and some market share has also been lost.
Generally speaking, OEMs will choose multiple suppliers to ensure the flexibility of the supply chain and reduce costs. If the supplier at point A can't supply, you can choose the supplier at point B and point C. Think tank Jun learned that many car companies have changed some parts suppliers due to the influence of production, supply and logistics. Among them, the parts enterprises in Hubei Province are most affected.
In addition, the pressure of the current overseas epidemic will also have an impact on the resumption of production of various vehicle companies under Dongfeng, especially the high-end products of Dongfeng Honda.
Although China is the largest manufacturer of parts in the world, some key parts such as engines and gearboxes still need to be imported, among which high-end joint venture models are the main ones. However, due to cost and other factors, the scale of imported parts of independent brands is small.
At present, due to the spread of the epidemic, parts enterprises in Europe, America, Japan and South Korea have stopped production. In general, the spare parts inventory of automobile enterprises is limited. If the overseas epidemic situation cannot be effectively controlled, it may bring supply chain risks to domestic OEMs.
The market is waiting to wake up.
At present, the automobile dealer network of major automobile enterprises in Wuhan has basically recovered.
There are 22 1 dealers of Dongfeng passenger cars, and currently 2 10 dealers have resumed work, with an overall resumption rate of 95%. As of March 3 1, the return to work rate of Dongfeng Citroen dealers nationwide has also reached 96%. However, it is not easy for Dongfeng's companies to return to the market track. Think tank Jun learned that at present, Dongfeng's subsidiaries have not adjusted their annual sales targets. However, the planning and marketing strategy of new car listing will be adjusted to varying degrees due to the epidemic situation.
"At present, the annual sales target of 654.38 million Dongfeng passenger cars has not changed, and we hope to work towards this goal." Zhou said to him.
Dongfeng Peugeot-Citro? n Automobile also said that it will strive to achieve the annual target according to the "Yuan" plan launched by the company last year. In 2020, Dongfeng Citroen originally planned to launch Tianyi's four-wheel drive plug-in car and brand-new car C3L. With the continuous introduction of policies to stimulate automobile consumption in various places, China's automobile market, which has been depressed for more than two months, is expected to gradually recover. Dongfeng motor is also accelerating the pace of resumption of production and returning to the competitive track.
