Changzhi No.5 Middle School, founded in 1965, is a full-time and complete middle school directly under the municipal government. In 2007, it was established as a "model high school in Shanxi Province" by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. In August 2009, the school moved to the new campus of Jiefang East Street.
