Karamay Vocational and Technical College, founded in 1956, is an ordinary higher vocational college with both engineering and literature. It is a national demonstrative higher vocational college, the first batch of "educational informatization pilot units" of the Ministry of Education, the second batch of "modern apprenticeship" pilot units in China, the first batch of "1+X" certificate system pilot institutions in China, the chairman unit of Xinjiang Petrochemical Vocational Education Park, the vice chairman unit of Xinjiang Industrial Enterprise Vocational Education Alliance, the national petrochemical technology professional group vocational education teacher training base, and the national petroleum and chemical industry vocational education training demonstration and training base.
