New progress has been reported in Jia Yueting’s car-making career.

On March 20, Faraday Future, an electric vehicle start-up invested by Jia Yueting, responded to The Paper saying that the company’s factory in Hanford, California, USA, had recently closed Construction officially started. The disclosed photos show that some workers and machinery have already appeared in the factory.

Faraday Future has always stated that it is promoting the production of its first mass-produced model FF91. At the supplier conference in February this year, Jia Yueting, FF’s main investor and founder, announced that FF had received US$1.5 billion in financing to meet its pre-IPO capital needs, and FF91 will be delivered before the end of 2018. Previous media reports stated that the FF 91 has a battery capacity of 130kwh, a range of 700 kilometers, and an acceleration of 100 kilometers in just 2.39 seconds. The price may exceed 2 million yuan.

Faraday Future originally planned to build its own factory in Nevada for production, but due to financial problems, it instead rented an existing factory in Hanford, California to accelerate the mass production process. However, when The Paper reporters visited Faraday Future's Hanford factory in the United States in December 2017, they found that the factory was still vacant, and now it has finally released a signal to start construction.

In addition to the start of construction of the Hanford factory, Faraday Future's affiliated company Ruichi Intelligent Vehicle (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. is also suspected of participating in a public bidding for a land parcel in Nansha, Guangzhou. The transfer announcement posted on the official website of Guangzhou Nansha Land Resources and Planning Bureau shows that the land parcel (No. 2018NGY-2) covers an area of ??400,988 square meters and has a starting price of 364.1 million yuan. Among the requirements for bidders, it is clearly stated that " The winner must introduce a pure electric vehicle assembly project with world-class R&D and manufacturing standards for pure electric vehicles within one month of winning the land."

It is worth mentioning that since the end of last year, LeTV Auto China announced that it would become Faraday Future China and FF implemented a dual-home strategy in China and the United States, Faraday Future has started a recruitment plan in China. Its WeChat public account has launched five consecutive recruitment notices. The work locations are mainly in Beijing and Shanghai, which is where the LeTV Automotive office used to be.
