After washing the cylinder gasket of diesel engine, there will be some abnormal phenomena such as "bubbling" in the water tank, water inflow in the oil pan, oil emulsification, and exhaust pipe drainage (white smoke). The main reasons of cylinder gasket are as follows

(1) Cylinder head deformation

Due to the long-term alternating action of high temperature and high pressure gas, the cylinder head is thermally deformed; Improper disassembly (out of sequence) can also lead to deformation. After the cylinder head is deformed, the inclined part can't compress the cylinder gasket, which leads to the leakage of high temperature gas and burns the cylinder gasket.

⑵ Different heights of cylinder liner bosses lead to lax sealing of individual cylinders.

In order to make the cylinder liner and cylinder gasket tightly press on the cylinder block and maintain good sealing performance, it is generally required that the plane of the boss on the end face of the cylinder liner is higher than the cylinder block by a certain size (generally 0.05 ~ 0. 12 mm), and the difference of the cylinder liner projection of the same diesel engine (or two cylinders under the same cylinder head) (generally 0.05mm) is also specified.

If it exceeds the specified value, the sealing pressure may be insufficient, so that high-pressure and high-temperature gas can escape and damage the cylinder gasket.

(3) The cylinder head bolts are loose or the tightening torque is insufficient.

When the diesel engine leaves the factory, the use and maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer clearly require the torque of the cylinder head fastening bolts, and the cylinder head should be fastened in strict accordance with the specified time and method during maintenance.

(4) The assembling method of cylinder gasket is incorrect or the quality of cylinder gasket is poor.
