Pudong New Area is a municipal district in Shanghai, so it is named because it is located to the east of Huangpu River. Pudong borders Fengxian District and Minhang District in the south, Xuhui District, Huangpu District, Hongkou District, Yangpu District and Baoshan District across the Huangpu River in the west, and Chongming District across the Yangtze River in the north.
