Yangcheng County is located at the southeast end of Shanxi Province, the east branch of Taiyue Mountain Range, the northeast of Zhongtiao Mountain, the west of Taihang Mountain and the west bank of the middle reaches of Qinhe River. It is adjacent to the suburbs of Jincheng in the east, Qinshui County in the north, Yuanqu County in the southwest and Jiyuan City in Henan Province in the south. The county is about 54 kilometers long from north to south and 53 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1968 square kilometers. Jurisdiction over 12 town and 3 townships.
