Xie Yichu (1896— 1983), formerly known as Xie Jinqiang, is a patriotic overseas Chinese and industrialist in Pengzhong Village, Waisha Town, longhu district City, Shantou City.

At the age of 27, he went to Thailand to work, and later raised funds to set up Zheng Da Company, dealing in rapeseed and feed. After several hard work, he developed into Zheng Da International Investment Co., Ltd.

From 65438 to 0950, Mrs. Kai returned to China and successively served as a technician, deputy director of state-owned Chenghai Farm, deputy director of state-owned Baisha Farm, member of county people's committee, chairman of county Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, member of provincial government and member of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. During my tenure on the farm, I will donate all my salary to Chenghai Farm to set up welfare undertakings.

He is engaged in agricultural scientific research. In addition to introducing excellent vegetable varieties, he also explored and experimented with cadres and workers, and successively cultivated and bred a large number of excellent varieties, such as "Chengnan" rice, Baisha Zaobai corn, Baisha Zaobai flower 1 1, Baisha hybrid early radish, Baisha Cai Zhong cauliflower, Baisha Zaocai and Jixin Zaobai, some of which were exported to Southeast Asian countries.

1965 back to Thailand. In his later years, Xie Yichu enthusiastically supported the cultural welfare in his hometown and donated money to build Chenghai Overseas Chinese Hospital and Chenghai Overseas Chinese Middle School. To commemorate Xie Yichu's spirit of loving the motherland and science, Chenghai Overseas Chinese Middle School named the science museum he gave to his children when he died as "Yichu Science Museum".
