Chapter I General Provisions

Article 1 Taicang Writers Association is a mass literary group composed of writers and literary workers under the leadership of China. He is a member of Taicang Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He works under the leadership of Taicang Federation of Literary and Art Circles and accepts the professional guidance of the writers' association at a higher level.

Article 2 Taicang Writers Association requires all members to study Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Theory of Three Represents, thoroughly implement Scientific Outlook on Development, implement the Party's literary thought, advocate and encourage members to go deep into life, emancipate their minds, be brave in exploration, keep pace with the times, innovate constantly, improve their writing level, produce more works, and strive to prosper their creation.

Article 3 Taicang Writers Association shall abide by the national constitution, laws and regulations and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its members according to law.

Chapter II Tasks

Article 4 Centering on the Party's economic construction, adhere to the basic line of reform and opening up, implement the direction of "serving the people and socialism" in literature and art, implement the policy of "letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend", adhere to the people-oriented principle, unite and organize all members, and make positive contributions to the prosperity of socialist literary creation and the promotion of the three civilizations.

Article 5 Respect the laws of art, carry forward artistic democracy, carry forward the main theme, persist in diversification, advocate and support members to be close to reality, life and the masses, emancipate their minds, innovate constantly, and strive to create all kinds of literary and artistic works with the spirit of the times and national characteristics, which are loved by the broad masses of the people.

Article 6 Organize literary creation, criticism and research activities, and hold various activities such as soliciting opinions, appraising and giving lectures to help members broaden their horizons, exchange experiences, improve their literacy and promote the prosperity and development of literature in our city.

Article 7 Support and guide mass amateur literary creation activities, discover and cultivate new literary forces, commend and reward outstanding talents and achievements through various ways and means, continuously expand the ranks of writers' associations in our city, and seriously and responsibly recommend members to writers' associations above Suzhou.

Article 8 Actively promote the unity of literary circles and strive for cooperation and exchanges with literary groups and writers at home and abroad.

Chapter III Members

Article 9 Anyone who agrees to the Articles of Association, lives, studies and works in Taicang, engages in literary creation, criticism, literary editing, teaching and organization, and has made certain achievements, shall apply by himself, be introduced by two members of the Association, be deliberated and approved by the Council of the Association, and become a member of the Association after fulfilling the procedures for joining.

Article 10 All members of the Chinese Writers Association who have settled in this city (including members of the Chinese Novel Society, China Prose Society and China Reportage Society under the Chinese Writers Association), Jiangsu Writers Association and Suzhou Writers Association are ex officio members of this association.

Article 11 Where the relevant literary and art groups and literary and art workers' associations in towns and districts are registered with the approval of the municipal government association management department, their voluntary application is approved by the Council, which is the group member of the association.

Article 12 Obligations of members of this Association: (1) Abide by the Articles of Association of this Association; (2) Participate in our activities; (3) Maintaining unity among members; (4) to declare the award-winning situation of the publication of my work; (5) Pay membership dues on schedule.

Membership rights: (1) Have the right to vote and stand for election; (2) Participate in the activities organized by the Association; (three) to put forward suggestions, opinions and criticisms on the work of this association; (4) enjoy the relevant facilities provided by the association for creation or observation; (five) to request the Association to assist in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of members engaged in literary work; (6) Have the freedom to withdraw from the meeting.

Thirteenth serious violation of the articles of association of this association and cause adverse consequences, damage to the reputation of this association, or be deprived of civil rights due to crimes, which shall be reviewed and approved by the Council of this association and reported to the Federation of Literary and Art Circles for approval, and their qualifications shall be cancelled.

According to the working characteristics of the Association, if a member leaves his post in literature, does not engage in literary creation or participate in the activities of the Association for a long time, fails to pay membership fees and is transferred from Taicang, he can naturally quit the Association after deliberation and approval by the Council.

Chapter IV Organization

Article 14 The organizing principle of this Association is democratic centralism, and the highest authority is the general meeting of members. When the General Assembly is not in session, the Council elected by the General Assembly exercises the functions and powers of the General Assembly.

Article 15 After democratic consultation, the Council shall elect a chairman, vice-chairmen and a secretary-general to lead the Association. According to the needs of the work, the Council may appoint one or two deputy secretaries-general to assist in the daily work.

The Association may establish a number of honorary positions, which shall be hired by the Board of Directors to undertake the duties of consultants and staff officers in the work of the Association.

Article 16 The term of office of the Council is five years, and meetings may be held in advance or postponed under special circumstances. The Council meets two or three times a year and is convened by the chairman.

Chapter V Funds

Article 17 The source of funds for this Association: (1) the funding and subsidies from Taicang Federation of Literary and Art Circles; (2) social donation and sponsorship; (3) membership fee; (4) Income from paid services; (5) Other lawful income.

Article 18 The Association practices economic democracy and regularly reports its income and expenditure to the Council and the general meeting of members.

Article 19 The Articles of Association shall come into effect as of the date of adoption by the Seventh Congress of Taicang Writers Association, and the right of interpretation belongs to the Council of the Association.
