Xuji Factory is located in Hengjiao Management Zone, Shijie Town, Dongguan. It is a subsidiary of Guangbao Technology and belongs to Guangbao Peripheral and Parts Business Group, specializing in the production of keyboards. According to its recruitment website, Dell is one of the main customers of this factory. The factory has an annual output of more than 30 million sets of keyboards, with an output value of nearly 300 million US dollars, accounting for 22% of the global output. There are about 1700 workers in Xuji factory, aged between 18 and 36. Because it is an assembly line operation, most workers are women.
At first glance, I feel a little surprised. Keyboard production is a labor-intensive process in electronic industry. How can a factory with less than 2000 people make such an amazing output?
Later, we learned from an old worker in the factory that Xu Ji outsourced a large number of orders to other small factories, so there was only one factory on the surface, but there were more than a dozen subcontractors below, who took orders from the factory at a lower price. According to our information, the factory subcontracted the order to other 16 small factories (as shown in the table in the previous chapter) to earn the difference. We think the working conditions in this factory are the best among the three factories (although there are still some violations of the law), because subcontracting has more profit margins. But like Guangbao factory, the work pressure of workers is still great.
The wages of workers in Xuji factory are relatively average. They have four days off a month and work overtime for three to four hours every day. They are divided into two classes and have a ten-minute rest every two hours. If they miss the goods, they will also have a rest on Saturday. They work overtime for about 70 hours a month in the off-season, with a salary of about 1, 000 yuan, and work overtime for about 1, 200-65438 hours in the peak season.

Terry factory is located in Xinfeng Road, Dongguan New Town, and there are four factories in Shijie. The area where the factory is located is a small electronic factory, mainly made of plastics. It is the outsourcing factory of Xuji Factory, which specializes in producing Dell keyboards for Xuji Factory. Terry's four factories have about 500-700 workers, 60% of whom are men. Because of poor working conditions, young and strong workers are reluctant to stay, so workers are mainly old workers over 30 years old. In addition, some workers under the age of 16 use fake ID cards to enter the factory, mainly from Henan, Sichuan, Shaanxi and other places.
Terry is the one with the worst working conditions. Normal working hours have violated the provisions of the labor law. He tried to work overtime at most 130 hours and at least 100 hours. Going to work on Saturday is not overtime, and the working hours in a month are as high as 338 hours. Because the wage standard of the factory is seriously lower than the legal minimum wage standard, even if workers work overtime for one month without rest, they can only earn about 900 yuan at most.
The factory stipulated that the meal time was only 30 minutes, but in fact, only workers were given 15 minutes, and they could only gorge themselves. Workers say they often have stomachaches.
The factory works at night every day, 24 hours a day, from 8: 00 to 20: 00 in the morning shift and from 20: 00 to 8: 00 in the evening shift. Eight hours is normal shift, and four hours is overtime. The shift is adjusted once a month, and the shift must work continuously 16 hours or more.
Workers' wages are relatively average. At present, the basic salary is1one day in 7 yuan, and one month's salary will be deducted for overtime work in 3.5 yuan factory.
The workers in the molding class have the highest labor intensity. There are about 90 workers in Class Two of the Molding Class, mostly male workers. Because of the high output, they have to work all the time to meet the output requirements, and the workload is heavy. I tried for more than four months without a day off. There are more than 30 machines in the workshop, and there is no air conditioning. The machine keeps giving off heat, so I've been sweating. Many task-oriented people have rashes on their faces and arms, which are particularly itchy at work.
In fact, compared with the beginning of this year, the wages of workers have increased now. The workers interviewed said that at the beginning of this year, their wages were only eight hours 16 yuan, and overtime pay ranged from 2.5 yuan to 3 yuan (in different departments). Later, the workers in the molding class went on strike day and night because they were dissatisfied with the low wages. Only then did the factory raise the wages to 17 yuan for one day and overtime pay to 3.5 yuan for one hour. However, more than 60 workers in the molding class took the lead in striking.
Because of poor working conditions, it is difficult for the factory to recruit people, so it is particularly difficult to resign. Generally speaking, factories will not allow workers to resign. If workers have to leave the factory, the factory will deduct 30% of their wages.
