1970, Yan Weiwen was admitted to Shanxi Song and Dance Troupe, but became a dancer. At the same time, all the recruited children have certain dance skills. Yan Weiwen's waist, legs and body were obviously too stiff, so he began a dance career with both physical and mental suffering.

1972, the amateur propaganda team of Shanxi Military Region soldiers went to Shanxi Song and Dance Troupe to "help the left", 15-year-old Yan Weiwen took the initiative to cooperate with the propaganda team. Later, the comrades of the propaganda team told Yan Weiwen to enroll students. Yan Weiwen signed up for the military amateur propaganda team exam. By chance, Yan Weiwen met Professor Zhang, who teaches vocal music in Shanxi University, and began to learn systematic vocal music art from Professor Zhang. After the training of Professor Zhang, Yan Weiwen made great progress in singing art and gradually became the pillar of the propaganda team. 1979, Yan Weiwen, who was getting better and better on the artistic road, was once again favored by fate and entered the Song and Dance Troupe of the General Political Department.
