The school's predecessor was Guizhou Chemical Engineering School, which was founded in 1958. In March 2002, with the approval of the provincial government, it was upgraded to an independent higher vocational college named "Guizhou Vocational College of Science and Technology Engineering"; February 2009 1, renamed Guizhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College; In 2009, it was identified as "the construction unit of provincial demonstration higher vocational colleges" by the Provincial Department of Education;
