What is a slow line operator?

Refers to the wire cutting operator.

Wire cutting, also known as low-speed wire-walking, is a kind of CNC machining machine tool that uses continuous moving thin wires (called electrode wires, usually copper wires) as electrodes to carry out pulse spark discharge on the workpiece, generate high temperature above 6000 degrees, remove metal and cut it into workpieces. The principle of WEDM is that there is a gap between the wire electrode and the workpiece, and the metal is removed by continuous discharge.

WEDM adopts the way of continuous wire feeding, that is, the wire is processed in the process of movement, even if the wire is worn, it can be replenished continuously, so the machining accuracy of parts can be improved. The surface roughness of WEDM is usually above Ra=0.8μm, and the roundness error, straightness error and size error of WEDM are much better than WEDM, so WEDM has been widely used in machining high-precision parts. In addition to the early small and medium-sized enterprises, it is also common in the processing plants of large enterprises such as aviation, automobile and medical care.
