Recently, it was reported that it was learned from the supply chain that the first self-developed chip of "Blue Factory" Vivo would be listed soon, and its internal code name was "Yue Ying". At present, the functional details of this chip are not clear, or it may be an ISP chip specially designed to improve the image capability, which is expected to be launched in its new X70 series.

The "Blue Factory" did get involved in SoC design as early as one and a half years ago, which was confirmed by Hu Baishan, executive vice president of Vivo, in an interview with the media from September 2065438 to September 2009. At that time, Vivo launched a large number of recruitment plans for chip people, announced the positions of analog circuit design engineer, SoC verification engineer and chip digital circuit design engineer, and proposed to build a chip team of 300 to 500 people in the future.

Based on this demand, Vivo began to go deep into the initial design stage of SoC chips. In May 2020, the chip trademarks applied by Vivo: "vivo SOC" and "vivo chip" were exposed, and the application dates of these two trademarks were 2065438+September 2009. The product categories covered include: CPU, modem, computer chip, printed circuit, computer storage device and other processor-related products.

Recently, a supply chain person said: "OPPO's first self-developed chip is a 6nm chip, which is manufactured by TSMC. It may be a minimalist version of SoC, or an ISP chip of an image signal processor. Some ip technologies may cooperate with domestic communication chip manufacturer ASR. "

At present, there are only three mobile phone manufacturers in the world who really have the ability to independently develop SoC chips: Huawei, Samsung and Apple. The "blue-green brothers" have all started to try to make chips, and they still need to continue their efforts in the future.
