Tsinghua University Medical College was founded on 200/KLOC-0 10125 October. The first president was Professor Wu Jieping, a famous physician and academician of the two academies.

Life science and medicine are considered as one of the most active and promising disciplines in the field of science and technology in the world. Therefore, Tsinghua University decided to establish a medical college, which is an extremely important step for Tsinghua to conform to the needs of national development and the development trend of higher education and science and technology in the world and forge ahead towards the goal of a world-class university.

Relying on the overall advantages of Tsinghua University as a comprehensive university, the Medical College is committed to cultivating medical scientists, senior clinicians, medical educators and senior medical management personnel who have basic theoretical knowledge of humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, basic medicine and clinical medicine, and have both clinical skills and scientific research capabilities, and can engage in research, medical services, teaching and management in the medical field. The academic system is 8 years. Students will complete their studies, and those with excellent grades will receive a doctorate in medicine (M.D.).

The Medical College will make full use of the faculty and laboratory conditions in Tsinghua to complete the basic teaching tasks of related scientific and technological disciplines, establish a relatively complete and advanced teaching system for basic and clinical medicine, absorb the successful experience of advanced teaching systems and teaching methods at home and abroad, and gradually realize full English teaching. Tsinghua University Medical College signed a cooperation agreement with the PLA General Hospital (30 1 Hospital) in May 2006. 30 1 Hospital became the teaching hospital of Tsinghua University Medical College. The first batch hired 22 well-known experts as part-time professors in Tsinghua University, and carried out extensive cooperation in the field of scientific research.

In order to make our university rank among the first-class universities in the world by 20 1 1 years ago, the leaders of our school clearly put forward the strategic goal of "striving for breakthroughs in the fields of information, nanotechnology and life sciences". In today's new development situation, in order to strengthen and promote the development of life science and medicine in our university and its cross-cooperation with other engineering disciplines, Tsinghua University established the Tsinghua University Institute of Life Science and Medicine on June 5th, 2004 at 438+1October 9th.
