V 1 chip can be matched with different main chips and screens, which can expand the computing power of ISP for high-speed imaging, release the load of the main chip ISP, and serve the needs of users for taking photos and videos.

Du Yuanjia pointed out that V 1 has the advantages of high computing power, low latency and low power consumption in specific image processing tasks. It can not only process complex operations at high speed like CPU, but also complete parallel processing of data like GPU and DSP. In the face of a large number of complex operations, the energy efficiency ratio of V 1 is twice as high as that of DSP and CPU.

In addition, V 1 optimizes the storage architecture and high read-write circuit of the data inside the chip, and achieves a very large cache equivalent to 32MB, while the cache of mainstream flagship desktop CPU is about 16MB. Vivo V 1 can read and write at the speed of 35.84Gbps, and has the real-time noise reduction and frame insertion ability of 1080P 60PFS.

When shooting night scenes, with the blessing of V 1, the main chip can run 4K 30FPS MEMC noise reduction framing with low power consumption during low light recording, improving the effect of night scene images, and cooperating with the original noise reduction function of the main chip ISP, realizing secondary lighting and secondary noise reduction.

Vivo transfers the software algorithm to the special hardware circuit of V 1, so that the complex calculation and imaging functions can be started under the default photo and video preview. Compared with the software implementation, the power consumption of the hardware circuit of the V 1 dedicated algorithm is reduced by 50% in the high-speed processing of the equivalent computational imaging algorithm.

According to reports, V 1 will be launched by vivo X70 series, and it is expected to be released on September 9, mainly for the mid-to high-end market.
