New positions, new opportunities

In the context of accelerating conversion of old and new driving forces, new occupations are emerging faster than ever before, but new occupations have not yet formed a scale effect in the total employment plate. This requires actively guiding workers to change their concepts in a timely manner, learn new skills, and keep up with the progress of the times

Bartenders, barterers, carbon emission managers... Recently, our country released the fourth batch of 18 new professions. So far, our country has launched 4 batches of 56 new occupations.

In the past, we were worried about the arrival of the era of artificial intelligence, fearing that "machine substitution" would cause the demise of some traditional occupations, thus having an impact on the job market. However, with the support of new technologies, the economy is developing rapidly, life is changing with each passing day, and a number of new industries have emerged, which in turn has expanded employment space.

While new technologies may reduce the demand for a number of jobs, they are also creating more new jobs. Taking the latest batch of new occupations as an example, new occupations spawned by the development and changes of digital technology such as service robot application technicians, integrated circuit engineering technicians, intelligent hardware assemblers, and industrial vision system operation and maintenance personnel account for 18 of the newly announced nearly half of the new professions.

Not only are there a large number of new occupations, but each new occupation has a higher “gold content” and a broader prospect. Take service robot application technicians as an example. Nowadays, various new service robots such as robots that can ride in the elevator to deliver food, robots that can cook, and robots that can mix coffee are frequently appearing. However, each service robot needs to be installed and installed by technicians. Only by debugging can you adapt to the work scenario and work efficiently. Service robots may have replaced some manual labor positions, but they have created new positions with higher knowledge content and higher pay levels, and brought new employment opportunities.

The new industry has also transformed many old craftsmanship, ushering in a new spring. More than a decade ago, bicycle repairmen, who were everywhere on the streets, were considered a profession about to be eliminated. However, the emergence of self-service bicycles has made bicycle repairmen popular again, and they have been recruited by various self-service bicycle companies and become important positions.

In this ever-changing era, technology is innovating, industries are upgrading, life is improving, and the environment is becoming more beautiful... Every change brings new employment opportunities. Hotel sleep testers, micro-film planners, personal travel planners, cloud customer service... These novel professions did not exist 10 years ago, but now they are popular job types that many companies are vying to recruit. Under the guidance of the innovation-driven development strategy, the new economy is booming, making new occupations cover manufacturing, catering, construction, finance, environmental protection, emerging services and other industries, and becoming the driving force for the continuous transformation of these industries.

Career changes allow us to see new opportunities arising from changes. An analysis report by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security shows that in the next five years, my country's total demand for supply chain managers will reach about 6 million; the total demand for agricultural managers will reach about 1.5 million; and the demand for drone pilots will reach nearly 1.5 million. 1 million people; the demand for industrial robot system operation and maintenance personnel is about 1.25 million. As long as we actively embrace new changes, rely on the development of new driving forces to expand employment and meet new market demands, we can effectively alleviate employment pressure.

Of course, we must also see that in the context of accelerating conversion of old and new driving forces, new occupations are emerging faster than ever before, but new occupations have not yet formed a scale effect in the total employment plate. This requires us to actively guide workers to change their concepts in a timely manner, learn new skills, and keep up with the progress of the times. New job opportunities are out there and we need to seize them. (Li Xinping)
