The main responsibilities of the Beijing Municipal Ethnic Affairs Commission

(1) Implement the national guidelines, policies and laws, regulations and rules on ethnic and religious work, and supervise and inspect the implementation; be responsible for the publicity and education of ethnic and religious laws, regulations and policies .

(2) Responsible for investigating and studying the ethnic and religious situation in Beijing, drafting relevant drafts of local regulations and government regulations in this city, and proposing policy recommendations.

(3) Coordinate and promote the relevant departments of this city to perform their duties related to ethnic affairs and establish an ethnic affairs service system; protect the legitimate rights and interests of ethnic minority citizens in accordance with the law and coordinate ethnic relations; assist relevant departments to undertake the training of ethnic minority cadres, Selection and employment work; responsible for the creation of ethnic unity and progress and organization and implementation of commendation activities; contacting ethnic minority people.

(4) Participate in the formulation of special economic, cultural, educational and other plans for ethnic minorities in this city; assist relevant departments in promoting the development of ethnic minority undertakings; cooperate with relevant departments in undertaking major ethnic cultural and sports activities.

(5) Cooperate with relevant departments to promote the development of the city's ethnic rural economy and designated production enterprises of halal food and ethnic special needs commodities; undertake statistical analysis and comprehensive evaluation and monitoring of the economic development status of ethnic rural areas and the halal food industry.

(6) Manage the city’s religious affairs in accordance with the law, protect the legitimate rights and interests of religious groups and religious activity venues; protect citizens’ freedom of religious belief and normal religious activities; be responsible for relevant work in religious foreign affairs.

(7) Guide religious groups in this city to carry out activities in accordance with laws and regulations, support religious groups in strengthening their own construction; assist religious groups in setting up religious schools; be responsible for training ethnic and religious cadres; handling religious groups must be handled by the government Assist or coordinate related matters.

(8) Cooperate with relevant departments to handle emergencies involving ethnic and religious aspects; coordinate with relevant departments to complete the compilation of ancient books of ethnic minorities.

(9) Undertake other matters assigned by the municipal government.
