What is the Shanghai Peony Award for Natural Science?

The Shanghai Natural Science Peony Award was established in 1994. It is a municipal science and technology award funded by social forces. It mainly rewards young and middle-aged people in the city who have achieved outstanding research results in the fields of basic research and applied basic research in natural science. Scientific workers are selected every two years. There are 6 subject groups including mathematics, chemistry, information, biology and agriculture, medicine and pharmacy, and materials and engineering. There will be no more than 6 winners in each selection.
