Message from the author of Hyun Bin Foreign Enterprises Struggle.

By chance, I decided to write this novel, but it took me a year.

The original intention of my writing is only to record the ups and downs when I first entered the workplace, so that I can recall this hilarious experience in a few years. Perhaps the greatest pleasure in life is to look back at the embarrassment when I was a rookie.

Inadvertently, after the novel was serialized online and received good response from many readers, the editor of Machinery Industry Press also found me. The post-80s editor and I hit it off. We talked about the widespread doubts about the post-80s generation in today's society, and also talked about the difficulties and helplessness that EHS practitioners encountered on the road of struggle.

Is the post-80s generation really so depraved? At least neither I nor my editor think so. So, we decided to stand up for the post-80s generation.

Therefore, this book is dedicated to the post-80s generation like Hyun Bin who worked hard to "get a foothold in the 1930s".

I am engaged in EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) occupation. How biased this industry is can be seen from an embarrassing incident I edited. He has been working with me on this book for more than half a year, but he still can't tell what the Chinese full name of EHS is. This has always been a sore point for me to make fun of him.

But in fact, EHS career is not biased at all. From Henan workers to "open chest for lung examination", to BP oil spill, and then to Foxconn 12; From global warming to countless occupational diseases and coal mine deaths in China, these are closely related to EHS. Many things that happen to everyone every day are inextricably linked with EHS.

It stands to reason that engaging in EHS management should be pleasant and proud, because EHS practitioners are working hard for everyone's safety and health every day. EHS practitioners should also be recognized and thanked by everyone. But in the communication with many readers, I found that many EHS practitioners are pessimistic about the cause of EHS, especially those brothers and sisters who struggle for private enterprises and private enterprises. Low salary, no status, no bright development prospects and so on seem to be the reasons why many EHS practitioners choose to leave EHS.

This is an unavoidable reality for EHS practitioners in China, but it is an indisputable fact that EHS has been accepted and valued by the government and the general public. From the hot discussion on "low carbon", "environmental protection" and "food safety" in the streets and lanes, and from the "coal mine accident" and "traffic accident" often reported by major media, it shows that EHS has become the focus of people's attention. Of course, many European and American enterprises in China do set a good example for other domestic enterprises. In these European and American enterprises, they can really put "safety first" into practice. I once heard from hearsay that the annual salary of EHS director position posted by a European and American enterprise on the recruitment website is as high as 3 million RMB. Whether it is true or not, this undoubtedly sets an economic goal for many EHS employees.

Let's look forward to the spring of EHS practitioners.

I hope this book can create some positive voices for the post-80s generation in the society, and I hope this book can cheer up all EHS practitioners.

The revolution has not yet won, and comrades still need to work hard. I sincerely hope that readers and friends can communicate with me more. your's support and encouragement will be the driving force for my continuous progress.

Finally, I am very grateful to my colleagues, friends and leaders who gave many good suggestions to this novel.

This book is dedicated to the post-80s generation who struggled silently under the pressure of public opinion, and all the most lovely EHS practitioners.
