Mountain renovation in the west of Shiyan City is an important measure for the municipal party committee and government to intensively use land resources, expand urban development space and strive to build a regional central city. It is positioned as "Shiyan New Industrial Zone".

Shiyan New Industrial Zone is the hope of Shiyan's future industrial development, the development space for Dongfeng Company to build a commercial vehicle manufacturing base that is "the first in China and the third in the world", and an important carrier to declare a national demonstration base for energy conservation and environmental protection. Its planning goal is to build a brand-new "city in the city" with industrial support, perfect urban functions, harmonious ecology and livable industry.

Shiyan New Industrial Zone started construction on June 5438+065438+ 10, 2007. The land has been leveled for 4 square kilometers, and the internal roads, water supply, power supply, telecommunications, drainage, sewage and other infrastructure are perfect. Construction of the externally connected Construction Avenue, Development Avenue and Fengshen Avenue is about to start. Shiyan New Industrial Zone has made extensive investments at home and abroad, and has contacted more than 300 projects. Major projects that have reached the investment intention include: Jingneng1.2000 kW thermal power project, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company's power system project, Industry-University-Research base of Hubei Institute of Automotive Technology of Xi Jiaotong University, special purpose vehicle project of Dongfeng Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd., Guangdong Pioneer Park of Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, Zheshang Industrial Park of Shanghai Tiantai Chamber of Commerce, etc.

The planning of the new industrial zone has been released. The mountain consolidation project here will cover an area of 1 10,000 mu. On this "artificial plain", a modern western new city with an industrial output value of 50 billion yuan and a population of 300,000 will be built. The new urban area is forming a blueprint for the construction of two vertical and two horizontal trunk roads and ten vertical and ten horizontal trunk roads, with complete social service facilities such as squares, hospitals, schools and banks.

The new industrial zone starts from Shitian Expressway in the north, reaches the planned Three Gorges Road in the south, reaches the foothills of Sifang Mountain in the east and reaches Xicheng Economic Development Zone in the west, including Jianshe Avenue, Fengshen Avenue, Development Avenue, Kaixuan Avenue and Checheng West Road. The area is 5 1 km2.
