China Opera Art Research Institute, established on 1950, is an institution established by the Ministry of Culture and the Beijing Municipal Government to train senior professionals in opera art, and is the highest institution of opera education in China.

By March 20 14, China Opera Academy had a total area of 54,300 square meters and a total construction area of 95,000 square meters. At present, the school has 10 teaching units, 4 undergraduate majors 1 0, 25 professional directions, 2 master's programs in first-class disciplines, and two disciplines master's programs10. There are 2543 students in school, including 2048 full-time undergraduates, 268 graduate students, 50 graduate students of outstanding young actors in the 6th Chinese Peking Opera, and 177 continuing education students.

From 2006 to 20 14, China Opera Academy won 220 scientific research projects with a funding of 86915900 yuan, won more than 200 national, provincial and ministerial awards for scientific research and creation, published more than 30 academic works and textbooks, and created more than 400 artistic works. A large number of outstanding works, such as The Legend of the White Snake, The Firecracker, Yue Yun, Du Shiniang, Champion of Zhang Xie, Les Miserables, Red women soldiers, Three Stories of the Soul, Song of the Long March, and Mei Lan's Dress, were all created and adapted by the Academy and won the nomination award for the National Stage Art Boutique Project.
