Is it credible that someone who recruits administrative clerks and asks you to do sales for a month?

Administration and sales are two different departments. I have never heard of the clerk going out to do sales. When I was a sales clerk, I never managed the business of the sales department. It was an administrative matter. You’ve done a lot, so you’re not asked to do telesales, right? It’s hard to find clerks these days. After all, the work is simple, and many of them are done first by those with connections.
