My hometown? Jilin Baishan Linjiang

This is an old article I wrote on my way back to Beijing after the Spring Festival on 20 17. At that time, I had not returned to my hometown for three years. I feel infinite emotion in my heart. It is also the first time in my life that I want to write some words to describe this emotion. Reading here today, that nostalgia still makes my eyes moist. Therefore, I reissue this article and make a small preface to remember it.

My hometown is in baishan city, Jilin Province, near the Yalu River, which is called Linjiang. It is a border town that can't be found on the national map. Very small, so small that you feel that time in your hometown is particularly durable, and you can do a lot of things in one morning. Beautiful scenery, mountains and water, is a famous small Jiangnan in Northeast China. Nature has created many natural landscape paintings, and the landscapes in my hometown have given me many childhood memories.

When I was a child, I would go to the mountains to dig wild vegetables with my friends in spring. There are shepherd's purse, small root vegetable, mother-in-law (scientific name dandelion), mountain lettuce, mountain celery, monkey leg (a fern), hairy cow (a fern), thorn bud, sweet potato (scientific name platycodon grandiflorum) and so on. There are many understandings, but I can't name them. The dug potherb dipped in sauce is delicious, but it was small at that time. I think digging potherb is very interesting, but I don't like eating the dug potherb, and I think it is too bitter.

In summer, sunny places will be very hot, either bathing in the river to relieve the heat or playing in the pine forest on the mountain. The pine forest on the mountain is opaque and feels cool. Thick pine needles are soft and comfortable to step on and feel like natural quilts. In this season, there are many animals and plants on the mountain. Grapes and wild plums in the mountains can be eaten. There is also a kind of wild fruit called tray, which is very sweet, but don't eat too much. If you eat too much, your stomach will swell. When I was in middle school, I learned Lu Xun's "Hundred Herbs Hall" and "Three Tans Printing the Moon", only to know that the scientific name of this thing is raspberry. There is also a kind of grass, chewing and eating sour. We call it acid slip. I often steal cucumbers, tomatoes and fruits (strawberries) from other people's gardens. When the cherries are ripe, they will steal them to eat. The way we steal cherries is an extinct stealing method. We always break branches directly according to which cherry has more. The master hates our children when he sees us ruining the cherry tree like this. He often hears them shout, "Eat if you want, don't break branches!" " . Looking back now, I think the best food is stolen cucumbers, tomatoes, cherries and fruits.

Another purpose of going up the mountain is to catch all kinds of small animals. Basically, this is an opportunity. We catch whatever we see. Knowing that cricket is aggressive, we catch cricket everywhere and fight cricket. Sometimes when you catch a screaming slug, you will make a slug cage out of corn stalks and put it in it. It will flap its wings and bark in the cage day and night. Boys have all kinds of weapons in their hands: slingshots and guns. In the worst case, pick up a stick on the road. If you find a better stick, replace it. With weapons, you will have more confidence in going up the mountain. Shoot birds when you meet them, and snakes when you meet them. When we met the ant nest, we turned it upside down, and finally there was the seventh army of ants. I don't know how many lives, sins and sins have been strangled.

In autumn, I will go to the mountains to pick mushrooms, beat walnuts, beat pinecones, beat hazelnuts and beat dates. I feel that the mountains in my hometown are really rich in products. The mountain in my hometown is the Changbai Mountain Range. When I was a child, I often heard that I dug another ginseng, which was seven or eight times as heavy. But the most common is artificially planted ginseng. Planting ginseng is really a complicated activity. It's hard just to turn over the ground. It takes more than one person to dig deep into the soil to make ginseng grow comfortably and quickly.

I will follow my cousin to pick up Dabao in autumn. The so-called Dabao is a big poplar leaf. The bigger the leaf, the thicker and longer the handle of the leaf. Children will play a game called "Dabao". Broken treasure is not a treasure. In order to make Dabao strong, children will put Dabao in their shoes, and some will soak in salt water. It is said that Dabao will be stronger in this way, and in the game of pulling Dabao, you can beat one enemy by ten.

In winter, the mountains are closed by heavy snow, and the snow is more than one meter deep where no one steps in winter. We children use all kinds of sledges to put it down from the high slope. At that time, whoever had a back sledge that could control the direction was a treasure, which was envied by children. Older children can play Korean sledge with higher technical content, make a single sledge with chainsaw pole, sit and put it by themselves, control the balance and then slide, which is a bit like the principle of bicycle. In winter, I will play with my children on the ice. The material of the rudder screw determines the length of time the rudder screw rotates on the ice. Don't look at some children's wooden rudder screws, which are very big. When it touched the rudder screw made of iron bumps, it was knocked open. In order to have a satisfactory rudder screw in winter and find materials in one year, I found a big steel ball today and a big screw cap the day after tomorrow, and I am trying to get it together. This process is full of excitement and expectation.

There are mountains in my hometown, but there is no shortage of water. Among the three rivers that originated in Changbai Mountain, one flows through my hometown, Yalu River. Some people say: Baishan people are the best-looking in Jilin Province; Linjiang people are naturally the most beautiful people in Baishan. Changbai Mountain blocked the cold wind in the south, and Yalu River moistened the air in my hometown and raised beautiful Linjiang people.

Evergrande and Nongfu Spring both built mineral water plants in their hometown. I joked with my friends that we Linjiang people drink mineral water, even flushing toilets is mineral water. Is this enough to make me stink?

The rivers in my hometown are full of treasures. In summer, cans, bottles and linoleum paper can be used as tools to remove sound from fish, and the method is simple. Tear the linoleum paper into strips to form a bell mouth, buckle it on the canned bottle, put the fish food in it, and tie the mouth tightly with a thick rubber band, and the fish is ready. Put it in a river with stones or roots, and the water should not be too deep, so it is convenient to start from the child. Yu Zi's mouth should face the running water, so that the fish can't come out after eating. Fish food can be steamed bread residue, corn flour and some soy sauce. When you get off the bus, you can go to other places to cast a net to fish or turn over rocks to fish (the sound of pulling is turned on, and Gu's voice is turned on softly). After an hour, you can get up in Yu Zi. You are lucky to find a bottle of fish, all of which are similar in size. This kind of fish is slightly fried in oil and tastes good.

There are many stingrays in the river in my hometown, which are called crayfish in big cities. We locals are not willing to cook with thorns. Usually we catch the big ones and keep them. We can eat them after cooking. There is a famous crayfish cooking technique in my hometown, which is called "spinning tofu". This dish is impossible for people who eat crayfish in the city to copy. First of all, there should be a lot of thorns, the thorns should be fresh, the shells should be peeled off, the dirt should be removed, and the thorns should be left. Use the meat grinder at home to break the prickly tofu, add some salt, boil the water and cook it like a meatball. Both soup and meat are eaten, which is tofu with thorns. There is no tofu in it. How can it be called prickly tofu? I asked when I was a child, and no one told me why. Maybe the soup looks like tofu brain. I don't think people in the city can eat such things. It's too wasteful and extravagant. Yes, that's the luxury we ate there. Scratching thorns is also very interesting. There are many people and few tools, so turn the stone over and grab it with your hands. When people have few tools, they look for thorns. Fishing for thorns is not a complicated matter, as long as you have a little rope numbness. The rope is white thread rope for wall building, and the thread hemp is hemp rope. Just dismantle it. First find a toad on the shore, kill it, peel it and smash it, but it must not be smashed into pieces. Finally, tie the bait-wrapped thread hemp ball to a stone, tie it with a rope, put it in the water, put the thread on a nearby big stone, and pull it up ten minutes later. Sometimes, there will be several big thorns lying on the hemp ball, and the thorns will find that they have been cheated and have no time to escape. Stinger has two big pliers, which are very powerful and have barbs at the back. Usually, it is easy to get stuck or caught when touching it, but when it comes to linear hemp, the advantage becomes a disadvantage, and the barb and big pliers are caught in the linear hemp, and it can't run away if it wants to.

I told many interesting childhood stories about my hometown in my memory, as if I had gone back to that era and saw the tender faces of my friends and the kind faces of my loved ones. Probably the good mountains and waters in my hometown have also raised such kind people. Life at that time was a hard exercise for me, but with so many partners and countless interesting things, I didn't feel bitter anymore. Today, I can always feel the greetings and concerns of my relatives. Yanyan, have you eaten? It is such a simple sentence that it warms me enough. I have a lot to thank, the mountains and rivers in my hometown, my relatives, teachers and friends in my hometown, and even that unfortunate era. I used to be afraid of the Chinese New Year, but I didn't dare to go back to my hometown until recently. When I returned to my hometown, I found that many things had changed. The Yalu River can no longer freeze, the snow on the mountain is not so thick, and the small bungalow where I once lived is gone. People in my hometown have already lived in warm buildings, and many times I can only look at the present buildings and recall what it used to look like here. That's where I used to put my sledge, where I used to steal cherries, and where I used to be a classmate's home. It was not until I went back that I found that my heart loved the land where I was born and raised. I'm surprised at myself. I thought I didn't love my hometown. I am jealous of others and ask myself why I was not born in a big city. Now, am I, am I old?
