Chongqing University of Arts and Science is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal University and Yuzhou Institute of Education, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In April 2005, the two universities merged and renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences. After the merger, the main person in charge was set up at the main hall level.
