As one of the important measures to implement the strategy of developing the western region, from 65438 to 0999, the State Council decided to allow all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government in the central and western regions to choose a qualified and completed provincial-level development zone in their capital cities and bid for a national-level economic and technological development zone. Since the beginning of this year, the State Council has successively approved Hefei, Xi 'an, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Changsha, Kunming, Guiyang, Nanchang, Shihezi, Hohhot, Xining and other provincial-level development zones with good conditions to be upgraded to national-level economic and technological development zones, bringing the total number of national-level economic and technological development zones in the central and western regions to 16. At present, there are 43 economic and technological development zones approved by the State Council.
