Introduction to the Shanghai Typhoon Research Institute of the China Meteorological Administration

The Shanghai Typhoon Research Institute of the China Meteorological Administration was established in 2001 on the basis of the former Shanghai Meteorological Science Institute (Shanghai Typhoon Research Institute) with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the Central Organization Office. It is a national-level public welfare research institution with the main development direction of basic research and applied basic research on tropical cyclones.
