Suqian City, Huaiyin District

1July, 996 19, the State Council approved the revocation of county-level Suqian city and the establishment of prefecture-level Suqian city. Shuyang, Siyang and Sihong counties in Huaiyin City are under the jurisdiction of Suqian City. Suqian City established Suyu County and Sucheng District. Suyu County governs eight towns, namely Shunhe, Gengche, Zaohe, Buzi, Daxing, Lailong, Caiji and Wang Guan, and Roman Lake, Longhe, Guanmiao, Huangdun, Luji, Luo Xu, Dingzui, Baoan, Caoji, Xiaodian, Tanghu, Huayang, Sanshu, Shiling, Xinzhuang and Yangbei. Sucheng District governs Sucheng Town, Jingtou, Zhikou, Shuangzhuang and Orchard in Suqian City, the former county level.

In 2004, Suyu County was first abolished and suyu district, Suqian City was established. Suyu district has jurisdiction over four towns of Shunhe, Zaohe, Daxing, Lailong, Caiji, Wang Guan, Huangdun, Xiaodian, Luji, Huayang, Dingzui, Guanmiao, Xinzhuang, Shiling 14, and two towns of Caoji, Baoan and Jingtou in Sucheng District. The District People's Government is located in Shunhe Town. Second, Gengche Town, Buzi Town, Yangbei Town, Longhe Town, Luo Xu Township, Nancai Township, Sanshu Township and Yanghe Town in Suyu County, and Zhenglou Town, Zhongyang Town, Cangji Town, Tuyuan Township and Jeffery Ji in Suyu County were placed under the jurisdiction of Sucheng District. After adjustment, Sucheng District has jurisdiction over six towns, namely Shuangzhuang, Gengche, Buzi, Yangbei, Longhe, Yanghe, Zhenglou, Zhongyang, Cangji and Jeffery Ji, four streets of Happiness, Li Xiang, Binjiang and Gucheng, and four towns of Luowei, Nancai, Sanshu and Tuyuan. The District People's Government is located on Zhongshan Road. After the adjustment, suyu district decreased from 23 townships in Suyu County to 17, the total area decreased from 1585 square kilometers to 1254 square kilometers, and the total population decreased from 960,000 to 680,000. Sucheng District has increased from the original 1 town, 1 township and 4 streets to1town, 4 townships and 4 streets, with a total area of 854 square kilometers from the original 136 square kilometers and a total population of 8 100 from the original 250,000. The total number of villages and towns in Siyang County has decreased from 23 to 18, the total area has decreased from 1.726 square kilometers to 1.4 1.8 square kilometers, and the total population has decreased from 1. 1.7 million to 940,000. The total number of towns and villages in Sihong County decreased from 26 to 25, the total area decreased from 28 10 square kilometer to 273 1 square kilometer, and the total population decreased from 1 10,000 to 950,000.

Before the adjustment, the area of Sucheng District was 130 square kilometers and the population was 260,000. Suyu County covers an area of 1 163 square kilometers with a population of 680,000. Shuyang County covers an area of 2,299 square kilometers and has a population of 654.38+0.72 million. Siyang county covers an area of 1362 km2 and a population of1160,000. Sihong County covers an area of 2,206 square kilometers with a population of 1.02 million.
