In 2003, the Department of Performance added a new element - musical performance - to the professional teaching connotation of drama, film and television performance, and enrolled the first undergraduate class with the direction of musical performance. Main achievements

The Department of Performance has cultivated thousands of outstanding drama, film and television performing arts talents for our country’s literary and artistic undertakings. Among them, there are nearly a hundred people who have won national and international awards. They enjoy high prestige in the eyes of the general audience. Yang Zaibao, Zhu Xijuan, Jiao Huang, Zhao Youliang, Pan Hong, Xi Meijuan, Li Yuanyuan, Ding Jiali, Lu Liang, Liu Wei, Song Jia, Wang Luoyong , You Yong, Chen Hong, Yu Hui, Ning Jing, Ju Xue, Lu Yi, Zhou Jie, Ren Quan, Li Bingbing, Tong Dawei, Hu Ge, Yan Kuan, etc. are all alumni of the Performance Department.

In the past two years, in order to run a successful musical performance class, the Shanghai Science and Education Commission and college leaders have given us great support. As one of the "Highland Construction" projects, we have established close ties with European and American musical theater performance entities and art schools. We have invited American Broadway musical experts to give lectures and open "Musical Theater Performance Workshops", which our students receive together with American students. Musical performance training and reporting performances were held in Shanghai and the United States; under the training of a more scientific and reasonable teaching system, the students studied hard and achieved not only results in dramas and film and television performances, but also bold I participated in the casting interviews for the Chinese version of "Les Misérables" and the American musical "I Love You".
