Characteristics of Sichuan-Qingdao Railway

The initial construction project of Sichuan-Qingdao Railway was named "Xincheng-Lanzhou Railway" (referred to as Chenglan Railway). It was originally planned to go from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou via Shifang, Mianzhu, Maoxian and Songpan, and extend northward to connect with lanzhou-chongqing railway Hadapu Station to Lanzhou.

Since the section from Huangshengguan to Hadapu passes through Jiuzhaigou National Scenic Area, experts have repeatedly studied, demonstrated and reviewed it, and finally cancelled the section from Huangshengguan to Hadapu in order to avoid ecological damage to this area.

At the same time, a new section from Huangshengguan to Xining is studied, which is connected with He Lan Railway in Gansu Cooperation Zone to form a railway passage from Chengdu to Xining (Lanzhou) (the construction project is called "New Xining-Chengdu Railway"). In April 2023, the Chengdu-Xining Railway passing through Huangshengguan was officially named "Chuanqing Railway".
