Brief introduction of Xinghua people
Xinghua people, also known as Puxian people, are a Xinghua-speaking people along the eastern coast of Fujian, China, and a branch of Min dialect of Han nationality. Mainly distributed in Putian, Fujian (including Putian and Xianyou) and parts of Fuqing and Yongtai near Fuzhou. With the overseas migration of Xinghua people in modern times, they also dispersed to Singapore, Malaysia and other countries in Southeast Asia, with a total population of about 5 million. In addition, most of the ancestors of Chaoshan people in eastern Guangdong came from ancient Putian County.
